Landing was curved before

Finished project

We most recently completed a hot tub pad and screened enclosure around the tub for a previous client in his backyard in Oshawa. We started by rebuilding one side of the existing landing that we had built several years ago changing it from a curve to a straight edge to accommodate the entry side of the hot tub and at the same time provide a nice size, 18" high landing area adjacent to the side of the tub for easy access into the tub. The top photo at the left shows the way it was before, the second photo shows the straightened side of the landing and during install of the patio slab pad which was laid on a minimum 8" compacted limestone screenings base, and finally, after the tub was moved into place, how the finished screened in surround looks. The privacy screen was constructed using three 6x6 support posts with double 2x8 scrolled end beams bolted to the support posts and short decorative scrolled end 2x6 "joist" on top of the beams. The four lattice "window" openings are removable super privacy lattice sections that provide you with the option to keep it closed in for privacy when in place or they can be removed.

Retaining wall built

Previously we worked on a large fence project in Pickering. The property required a pressure treated wood fence built using 6x6 posts with 5/4" tongue and groove boards on both sides in the back yard for a total of 450' and the balance at the end of the property enclosed with 162' of chain link fence. Additional work included building a retaining wall using precast Design Wall block with 3" thick coping averaging 24" high by 50' long. This project was constructed during the hottest heat wave of this summer and during the month of June when record rainfall was recorded.

Front yard complete in Ajax	We have done a several restoration projects, a couple of front walkways, a gorgeous front yard makeover and yet another deck since I last blogged. My client gave me a free hand in designing the front yard pictured at left. I was able to turn a relatively small, uninteresting footprint into a beautiful and welcoming landscape.
Deck in Brooklin	I like the simplicity of this deck - the low profile, the angled corners and decking laid on a 45 degree angle provide just the right amount of visual interest. With the deck level just 7" to 8" above the surrounding lawn it's nice not having a railing and it leaves a spaciousness to the yard.

Current project

We are presently working on a larger project involving the removal of 3900 square feet of asphalt and replacing the same areas with 4200 square feet of interlock.

Finished deck	We finished the deck, fence and covering over the back porch in Oshawa Monday afternoon (right on schedule) and as you can see from the photos at left the results were fantastic, the crew did a great job and we have yet another happy customer! We're halfway through the job in Brooklin that we started Tuesday and from there we are moving to the south end of Ajax to complete a front yard makeover.

Original old deck

Spring arrived early this year and another season of landscape construction is upon us! Our 4 man team is back in action and after several years working together they have become a very efficient and skilled crew. We started construction on Tuesday this week on a new wood deck and a fence in Oshawa. We first had to tear down and dispose of the old deck and fence. We worked a couple of days and then hit some "April showers" today. This project should be done by Monday and I will post finished photos for you.

Current progress

Our next project is in the town of Brooklin where we will be completing a front walkway and a back yard wood deck. We are currently booking for the last part of April.
